A burglar who got wedged in a window as he tried to break into a Northamptonshire house this morning has been arrested.

Northamptonshire Police’s force control room rarely uses it’s Twitter account to tell its 1,000 strong following when arrests have been made.

But a house raider who landed himself in handcuffs this morning must have tickled the force’s phone operators.

At about 6am The control room account tweeted: “First incident of the day, burglar stuck in a window! 1 under arrest.#ProudToProtect.”

The incident happened in Barnwell Street, Kettering.

Officers were called when the owners of the home in were “awoken by a lot of noise and discovered a man stuck in a downstairs window”, a police spokesperson said.

The 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and drugs offences.

He is currently being held in custody for questioning.
