A Kettering man who deliberately bumped his car into the back of his ex-partner’s vehicle during an episode of dangerous driving has been jailed.
Ray Brown, aged 38, of Highfield road, followed his partner’s car along the Rockingham Road, near Corby, and then overtook her before slamming on his brakes.
Northampton Crown Court heard Brown performed a u-turn and then continued to tailgate her before deliberately bumping the vehicle as it slowed down at a junction.
Stephen Moore, prosecuting, said the woman’s car suffered a damaged bumper and she was left feeling “very anxious and concerned for her welfare”.
His Honour Judge Michael Fowler said it was a “bullying” episode of driving that was intended to intimidate the woman.
Judge Fowler said: “Not only did you endanger her but other road users for no other purpose than just your jealousy.”
Brown was sentenced to eight months in prison. He was also banned from driving for two years.
