BREAKING NEWS: Police chopper and sniffer dogs catch four suspected burglars in the act near Northampton

Four suspected burglars have been caught in the act after a police swoop on a house near Northampton involving the force helicopter, a dog unit and several officers.

Four suspected burglars have been caught while trying to raid a house in Overstone.

A member of the public dialled 999 at 1.15pm this afternoon, to report a burglary on Sywell Road in Overstone, which they said was in progress.

Police scrambled squad cars, a sniffer dog unit and the force helicopter to the quiet village shorty after.

After a search of the area, four men were arrested.

A police spokeswoman said the men were suspected as trying to burgle a house on the street, and though the force helicopter was deployed it is understood no chase was involved.

Neither of the men has been charged at this stage.
