Brackley robber who cut woman's hand with knife sentenced to four years in jail

A Brackley man who threatened a 67-year-old woman with a knife during a robbery has been sentenced to four years and eight months in prison.

Royston Woodford, aged 35, of Waynflete Avenue in Brackley, was sentenced last week at Leicester Crown Court after pleading guilty to robbery and possession of a knife.

The offence took place on Sunday, July 3, in Church Road, Brackley, when Woodford threatened a 67-year-old woman with a knife, stealing her handbag and cutting her hand.

Woodford was arrested after two special constables recognised the description of the offender, went to his address and recovered the bag and most of the contents.
