The project will officially launch in January 2017 as it begins to deliver its beginner jogging group, health walks, Nordic walking and weight management programmes.

The programme will specifically target those who are inactive and especially women and girls, older people, disabled people and those from black and ethnic minority backgrounds.

The project is currently recruiting volunteers for the roles of local activators and community champions. The champions’ roles will include helping with the co-ordination and day to day running of the activities as well as helping promote the activities in the local community through word of mouth, and distributing flyers and posters. Meanwhile, the local activators will help to plan and prepare for activity sessions, support the delivery of fun and customer focused activity sessions as well as supporting the basic administration and reporting tasks on behalf of the ABC Project.

If you are interested in applying for either of the roles mentioned, local activator or community champion, contact Fraser Lodge at [email protected].
