Wootton Primary School youngsters took to the streets of the village today in a stunning carnival parade involving 420 children from Reception to Year 6, and about 50 adults.

More than 500 well wishers lined the route and in a project to promote the concept of belonging to the worldwide community while also being part of the local community. Each year group has been learning about a different country from around the world and their carnival celebrations were based around that country. The parade included Hawaiian hula dancers, rainbow fish, animals of the African savannah, an Indian elephant, Chinese dragons, and tropical birds.
