The event will be held in Castle Ashby Gardens on Saturday, May 14 and organisers are hoping to beat last year’s fund-raising total of £17,000.

The course will be dotted with several paint stations where volunteers will throw vibrant coloured powdered paint at the runners as they pass by.

The paint is made from corn starch so is completely non-toxic, biodegradable and washes off easily.

Cynthia Spencer Hospice event fund-raiser, Sarah Denston, who is organising the Colour Run, said: “The Colour Run is a family day all about fun, getting messy and raising money to support the amazing care provided to patients and their families at the Hospice and throughout the local communities.

“The run is non-competitive and you can get around the 5K course however you like – running, jogging, walking, crawling or you might even fancy breaking into a salsa.”

Registration for the event closes on Friday, May 6. Entry forms are available on the Cynthia Spencer Hospice website www.cynthiaspencer.org.uk. For more information contact Sarah on 01604 678160 or email [email protected].

The entry fee is £15 per adult and £7.50 per child, alternatively family registration (two adults and two children) is available for £40.
