Coach and van involved in serious collision on main road by Northampton pub

Fire and police crews have been called to a main road in Northampton after a serious collision between a coach and a van.

Emergency services are currently working to clear the scene after a crash by the Whitehills pub on the A508 Harborough Road.

A spokeswoman for Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue said: "We were called at 5.22pm to an incident on Harborough Road north near the ambulance station.

"A coach and a van have been involved, the van driver has sustained an injury to his knee."

A section of the road, between Birch Barn Way and Lynton Avenue has been closed while emergency services attend the scene.
