Chip shop owner helped man from house fire in Daventry
A chip shop owner raced from his shop to help a man from a burning flat in Daventry.
Fire broke out at the property in Chantelle Court, on the Headlands, at around 7pm on Thursday July 14.
Witnesses report that Mario Forgione from Michael’s Golden Chippy, which is located across Hemans Road from the Chantelle Court building, spotted the burning flat and ran out to help.
He helped a man from the property, and once the emergency services were at the scene, returned to work.
Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service say a quantity of carpet and clothing was involved in the fire and that one person was treated at the scene by paramedics for smoke inhalation.
