Children's charity working in Northampton praised for changing the lives of hundreds of youngsters

A children's charity that has helped more than 200 families in Northampton has received praise for its work.

Safe Families for Children, which works with Northampton Borough Council, has been singled out for "delivering great benefits to families".

The charity has worked with Northampton Borough Council since 2015.

A spokesman said; "During this period it has provided support to 222 families, delivering more positive outcomes for 531 children in the Midlands.

"Safe Families recruits and trains volunteers across the country who provide support for struggling families, in a ‘people helping people’ approach by providing innovative, early intervention support to families, preventing problems from escalating and children entering the care system," he said.

Keith Danby, Chief Executive of Safe Families for Children, said: “The results of the recent reports are an indication of the work we at Safe Families are passionate about. Creating better, more hopeful futures for children and their families across Northampton.”
