Treasurer of Northamptonshire Deaf Children's Society Pam Hamilton isn't sure when exactly it was taken but a cashier reportedly last saw it more than a week ago.

Pam was unaware it had been stolen until she went to the Co-Op in Rothersthorpe Road, Far Cotton at the weekend.

"It had been there since the beginning of June and I was due to collect it," she said.

"I went down there and they couldn't find it.

"It had been chained but someone must have slipped it off."

Pam estimates the society has lost around £40 as a result of the theft.

"The one we had in there previously normally got £30 to £40," she said.

"I have put a new one in which is padlocked."
