CCTV footage has been released of a man British Transport Police would like to speak to about an assault on a train travelling from London Euston to Northampton.

The victim, a 41-year-old man, was travelling in a first class carriage on Friday, November 14 when he was punched by a man, causing a cut underneath his left eye which required hospital treatment.

PC Alex Trivino, leading the investigation, said: “The train left London Euston at 11.24pm on Friday, 14 November, and an assault took place on board as it pulled into Milton Keynes around an hour later at 12.20am on Saturday, 15 November.

“I am confident that someone will recognise the man shown in these good quality moving images. I want to urgently speak to him about what happened. I would also like to hear from anyone else who was on the train, and saw what happened, and has not yet come forward to police.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting reference MSUB/B4 of 16/03/2015. Information can also be passed anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
