‘Can you tell the M1 workers to hurry up?’: Northampton hotel reveals oddest requests

A hotel in Northampton has revealed bizarre request made to its staff from guests.

Travelodge in Gold Street said reception staff said a frustrated customer earlier this year asked if they could make highways workers on the M1 speed up.

Other odd questions included:

· Are there cows in all six fields or do some have sheep?

· Could you help me pick a coat for my wife’s birthday from this website?

· Could you pack my suitcase for me?

And staff at the Upton Way Travelodge were even asked: ‘could you pack these 200 letters into the 200 envelopes?’

Many hotels are happy to perform extra services but the company said guest can sometimes take the concept too far.

Shakila Ahmed, a Travelodge spokeswoman said: “Our hotel teams will always try their best to accommodate all customer requests but there are some requests that we just cannot help with such as helping out with roadworks.”
