People living on the streets in Northampton will be given rucksacks with vital supplies by a social enterprise project.

Community Court Yard will be out and about in the town next month. Each rucksack will contain tins of food, a pair of gloves, sleeping bag, a spoon, a wool hat, Thermos flask, a fleece and some socks and underwear.

But the social enterprise relies on donations from the public to equip the rucksacks with the supplies needed for the winter.

A spokesperson said: “This is where you come in..... If there is anyone that would like to donate anything they can, no matter how big or small or you would like to volunteer with us in handing these rucksacks out to people then please get in touch.”

Bianca Todd, founder of Community Court Yard, added: “This is the third year that we have supported ‘The Rucksack Project’ in Northampton, and this year with an increase in people living on the streets and cuts to the services that support them, it is more important than ever that we work hard to make this day of action a success.”
