A burglar who broke into Frank’s Hamburger House in Towcester and stole £100 has been jailed.
Tristan Walsh, aged 33, broke into the restaurant by smashing the front doors then walked into the till area and stole a cash draw.
Northampton Crown Court heard Walsh had committed a string of offences before he was arrested on August 16 this year.
Stephen Moore, prosecuting, said Walsh had twice been caught driving while disqualified and, when he was stopped on December 27 last year, he admitted he had taken heroin and crack cocaine.
Walsh was also charged with failing to surrender after he did not turn up to a hearing at Northampton Magistrates’ Court. He also breached a probation order by failing to turn up to an appointment.
Judge Michael Fowler sentenced Walsh to six months in prison for the burglary and two months for the drug-driving charge, to be served consecutively. He was also sentenced to a further month for breaching the probation order and two weeks for failing to surrender.
