Budget brand Lidl set to open revamped supermarket in Weston Favell next week
A new cut-price supermarket is set to reopen a store in Northampton following a five-month re-fit.
Lidl UK has confirmed that its store on Octagon Way, Weston Favell, will open its doors to customers again at 8am on Thursday, November 17.
The supermarket, which has been closed since June, is over 100 square metres larger than the old one and will feature a new in-store bakery, customer toilets, baby changing facilities and a new car park.
For the first week of trading customers are being offerd 40 per cent off products such as Ocean Sea Fantail Prawns, Valley Spire Vintage Cheddar and Warren & Sons Back Bacon.
Lidl UK’s regional head of property, Jeremy Lee, said: “We would like to thank all those who have played a part in bringing this improved Lidl store to Weston Favell.
“It is wonderful for us to be able to reinvest in our existing store base and we can’t wait to welcome the community through our doors once again.”
German firm Lidl was crowned ‘Best Supermarket 2016’ by readers of Good Housekeeping and has been rapidly expanding in the UK over the past few years.
More than 5.5 million British shoppers now use the discount chain each week.
