Councillor Flavell added: “I am delighted to help Buddies of Beckets with their plans for the park.

"It is great that this voluntary group is working hard to improve Beckets Park which is such a valuable asset to the town.”

Luisa Jepson, secretary of BOB, said the group planned to hold regular litter picks in the New Year so the jackets were an essential purchase.

“All the volunteers thanked Councillor Flavell and following her visit, work continued on renovating a neglected rose bed and picking up litter across the park," she said.
