Northamptonshire singing sensation Faryl Smith is just days away from signing a record deal and a week away from featuring on an album for the first time.
The Britain's Got Talent star sings on the eagerly-awaited album by fellow finalist Andrew Johnston, which is released on September 29.
And the 13-year-old is on the verge of securing a singing career herself as the final details of her own record deal are thrashed out in the coming week.
Dad Tony Smith said: "We're dotting the i's and crossing the t's at the moment to make sure she's protected in every way. She is our baby at the end of the day – she's in great demand and we want to do it our way."
Faryl, a pupil at Southfield School for Girls in Kettering, sings Walking in the Air with choirboy Andrew Johnston on his album One Voice.
Even though it's not on sale yet, the album is already at number 197 in online shop Amazon's pre-sales album chart. And it is number 11 in Amazon's easy listening chart.
Mr Smith said his daughter has spent the summer holiday relaxing following a whirlwind few months.
After appearing on the ITV talent show, she joined the other finalist, for the Britain's Got Talent national tour.
Mr Smith said: "We've been trying to get her back to a bit of normality.
"You get caught up in it. If she had had her way, the tour would never have ended."
He added: "She's happy for Andrew as they are mates and is looking forward to his album coming out."
Faryl became a household name after wowing celebrity judge Simon Cowell in the popular competition.
