A man has been taken to hospital after an alleged stabbing inside a block flats near a Northampton primary school.
Up to seven police vehicles and an ambulance were called to the scene in Stockley Street, off Billing Road, at about 2.55pm today.
Emergency services found that a man had been allegedly stabbed and that the suspected attacker had fled, running off past Vernon Terrace School.
As a result, the school instructed parents to use the back entrance to collect their children.
Headteacher Jackie Lapsa said: “Parents told us about the police presence and we told them to use our other doors for their safety.”
Police were still searching Vernon Terrace at 4.30pm although no roads have been closed.
The condition of the injured man is not believed to be serious.
