BREAKING NEWS: Main road in Northampton closed after crash involving a car and a lorry
A main route into Northampton has been closed after a collision between a car and a lorry, which has left a vehicle on its side.
Victoria Promenade has been closed off between the Cheyne Walk junction and Morrisons while emergency services work to recover the car involved in the collision at around 3.30pm.
The driver was cut out of the vehicle at 4.15pm. Part of the iron railing by the side of the road has been kncoked down.
Traffic is currently queuing at the A428 Bedford Road junction and drivers are being advised to avoid the area if possible.
