Firefighters were called to a blaze at a car repair unit in Northamptonshire on Sunday afternoon.
The incident happened at an industrial unit between Walgrave and Old.
Safer community team sergeant for Daventry district, Sam Dobbs, gave details on social media this afternoon.
“All 999 services deployed in significant numbers at fire incident between Walgrave & Old. Industrial fire emitting major smoke plume,” he said.
“Villagers of Walgrave and Old assured that they are safe but we are keeping watching brief on wind direction and smoke advised by Fire Cddr,” he added.
“Walgrave to Old Road will remain closed overnight as Fire operation to continue during that time. All persons accounted for - no casualties,” he said.
All emergency services attended the incident.
Northants Fire & Rescue Service also gave details on social media.
“Incident Update: Walgrave Road, Old, this road will remain closed for foreseeable future. Residents of Cherry Hill and Walgrave advised to stay indoors and keep windows and doors closed,” a spokesperson said.
The fire service said crews were called at 4.17pm: “Incident 16:17 Currently at 50m x 50m corrugated barn on fire, involving cylinders & asbestos - 4 pumps & Water Bowser in attendance #Old.”
