BREAKING NEWS: Bus and car involved in a collision in Northampton town centre

A bus and a car have collided in Northampton town centre this afternoon (Friday) leaving several people needing treatment.

Emergency services are currently on the scene in Sheep Street after the collision between a black Honda Civic and a Stagecoach single decker bus at the junction of Greyfriars and Sheep Street.

Witnesses reported seeing a man removed from the car on a stretcher.

Currently paramedics are treating individuals on the number 16 Sunnyside bus itself.

Keith Turton, 60 who lives in the town centre, was on his way to the shops when he witnessed the collision.

“I was just walking by,” he said. “It made me jump, I thought the bus was going to come onto the pavement so I moved out of the way.”
