Boughton House in Northamptonshire hosts breathtaking pyrotechnics show for Bonfire Night

Remember, remember Northamptonshire's central role in the centuries-old tradition of Bonfire Night this November, as hit show The Gunpowder Plot returns to Boughton House.

Tickets are now on sale for the annual spectacular which takes place on November 4/5. Visitors can enjoy a breath-taking performance, projection and pyrotechnics at the historic home of Bonfire Night.

Back by popular demand, Leicester-based theatre company METRO-BOULOT-DODO will tell the story of the county’s infamous conspirators and honour Edward, First Lord Montagu of Boughton House - who sponsored The Observance of 5th November Act 1605 and set in motion the annual celebration on November 5.

Home now to Lord Montagu’s descendant, The Duke of Buccleuch, Boughton will literally become the backdrop to the main performance during three spectacular performances which culminates in a sparkling firework display.

Charles Lister, property manager at Boughton House, said: “It’s very humbling to think that a tradition instigated by Lord Montagu to celebrate the failure of the Plot to assassinate the King is still being honoured centuries on, and in such spectacular fashion as it is here at the Estate.

“The Gunpowder Plot is always a special occasion here at Boughton and we’re delighted METRO-BOULOT-DODO are back with us in 2016 for three more explosive shows.”

Paul Long, of METRO-BOULOT-DODO, added: “From comedic fire performances to live choral recitals, there’s something for all the family when they arrive at Boughton this year. And as well as our evening performances, we’re also catering for families with younger children by putting on a tea time performance too. Tickets are selling fast, so reserve yours now.”

The Gunpowder Plot takes place at Boughton Estate on November 4 and 5. On November 4, gates open at 6.30pm, with the show starting at 7.30pm. Then, on November 5, gates open at 4pm for the tea time performance, with the show starting at 5pm. Later in the evening, gates will open again at 7.30 for the 8.30pm show.

Tickets are on sale from www.thedeco.co.uk priced at £12.50 per adult and £9 for concessions.
