Boughton Estate in Northamptonshire announces new estate manager

Buccleuch has announced the appointment of a new estate manager at Boughton Estate in Northamptonshire.

Rachael Gladstone-Brown’s appointment as Boughton estate manager gives her overall responsibility for the 12,000 acre-estate including 10 let farms, 80 let commercial units, 180 cottages, in-hand farming, forestry and all sporting activities.

Rachael brings with her a wealth of experience in the rural sector, having started her career at Carter Jonas as a Chartered Surveyor in Shrewsbury, she then moved to Northamptonshire when offered a position as a land agent at Boughton in 2011.

On her new appointment, Rachael said: “I’m delighted to be charged with day to day responsibility for the estate, it’s a spectacular place and I intend to ensure that it remains so for all those who visit, live and work here at Boughton.

“It is also a very special place for me personally having been married in Boughton House.

“We have a fantastic team who all contribute to the ongoing development of the estate which has such a heritage and a very healthy future.”

Duncan Mackison, chief operations officer, said: “We are extremely pleased to announce Rachael as the new estate manager, her work to date at Boughton has been outstanding and I believe she will take the estate from strength to strength.”

Rachael has an MSc in Rural Land & Business Management from the University of Reading as well as being a fully qualified rural surveyor. Her love of the great outdoors extends to a passion for all thing equine. She is a keen horse rider and regularly competes at local and regional events on her two horses.
