A charity is appealing for volunteers to collect money at Northampton Town’s last home game of the season.

Beating Bowel Cancer is marking Bowel Cancer Awareness Month this month with a collection at Sixfields Stadium on Saturday April 30 during the match against Luton Town FC.

A spokesman for the charity said: “We will be there between 1pm and 5pm. Anyone interested in helping out, even for just a few hours is asked to call Leanne Sinclair on 07825 133535 or email”

Bowel cancer is the UK’s second biggest cancer killer – every half an hour someone dies of the disease. About 110 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer every day, that’s someone every 15 minutes but if diagnosed early, more than 90 percent of bowel cancer cases can be treated successfully.
