Armistice Day 100 - share your stories, photos, letters and more ahead of centenary anniversary

On November 11, 1918, the British people celebrated the end of the conflict in the streets of the UK as church bells tolled in villages, towns and cities across the country for the first time since the beginning of the Great War to inform people the conflict was over.

Millions of soldiers and civilians had lost their lives after four years of bloody conflict.

Thirty countries declared war between the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria in June 1914, which set the war in motion, and the signing of the Armistice Treaty in November.

We are calling on you - our readers - to get in touch with your personal accounts from family members and friends as we seek to tell the stories of the Northamptonshire men and women involved in or directly affected by the First World War.
