The 48-year-old man was injured after being knocked over by a C-Class Mercedes car on the High Street, A508, at around 9.50pm.

The victim is not believed to be in a life-threatening condition in hospital, but is likely to have to face an operation following the crash.

A police spokesman said: “The car failed to stop following the collision and the driver is requested to contact the Northamptonshire Police collision investigation team as soon as possible.”

The force has also made an appeal for witnesses.
