Another two retailers sign up for Rushden Lakes scheme
More retailers have signed up to be part of the major retail and leisure development coming to Rushden.
LXB, the developer behind the multi-million pound Rushden Lakes scheme, has said that further pre-lets have been agreed to join the likes of Marks & Spencer, House of Fraser, H&M, Primark, River Island, New Look and Joules.
The latest names are well-known shoe retailer Clarks as well as Tiger, a Danish retailer which specialises in design-led items ranging from homeware and kitchenware to stationery, toys and hobby items.
The latest lettings update published by LXB this week said: “LXB Retail Properties Plc, the Jersey resident closed-ended real estate investment company focused on edge of town and out of town retail assets, is pleased to report progress with the lettings at Greenwich, Sheppey, Stafford and Rushden Lakes.”
The lettings report revealed Clarks and Tiger have signed up as work progresses on the former Skew Bridge site just off the A45 at Rushden.
Construction of phase one, which includes three retail terraces and associated restaurants, is under way and the terraces built under this phase are expected to open to the public next Spring.
This phase will be anchored by M&S, House of Fraser and Primark with a further 30 units.
Phase two comprises of an 11-screen cinema which has been pre-let to Cineworld with further restaurants and various leisure offerings, including a bowling alley and indoor climbing unit.
It is hoped that construction for this stage will start prior to March 2017.
A revised planning application for phase three is due to be submitted later this year.
