Subculture launches next month

Subculture launches at Platform nightclub Northampton on September 8 and every Saturday thereafter.

The alternative club night will see DJ and actor Andrew Shim, known for his role as Milky in the TV show and film This is England, take to the decks for the launch and other dates in future.

Promoter Dale Walton was keen to challenge the misconception the venue was a students-only club.

"It's for everybody," said Dale, who also organises Peaky Blinders-themed events around the country.

Subculture will bring a night of 90s Britpop, indie, northern soul, ska, 2tone, 80s funk, old-school hip-hop plus some Hacienda classics and Madchester anthems.

There will be live music by cover bands every first and last Saturday of every month.

On the launch night, HeavySol Band will play mod classics and indie and Britpop tribute band SHINE will also take to the stage.

Pre-sale tickets will be on sale soon, entrance is £5 before 11pm and £8 after.

Doors open at 8pm with the first band on from 9pm.
