Air ambulance lands in Northampton after pedestrian hit

A pedestrian has been injured in a collision in Northampton town centre this morning.

The incident happened at around 7.45am on the junction of Sheep Street and Lady's Lane, just outside the Wok Inn.

The air ambulance was called and landed in Upper Mounts car park and the victim, man in his 30s, has been taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg.

A spokeswoman for Northamptonshire Police said: "This happened at 7.45am when a car and a pedestrian were in collision just outside the Wok Inn.

"The pedestrian (a man in his 30s) has been taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg.

"Injuries not believed to be life threatening or life changing."

An earlier report of this accident appeared on the Chron's website. At the time Northamptonshire Police informed us that the driver did not stop at the scene. However, following further investigation, the police have now confirmed this was not the case.
