Air ambulance lands in Northampton town centre after crash involving car and motorbike

The Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance landed in Northampton town centre this afternoon (Friday) following a collision between a car and a motorbike.

The accident, involving a car and a motorbike, happened at around 1.40pm at the St James Mill Road junction in St James Road by Halfords.

A spokesman for the air ambulance said: “Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance airlifted a 53 year old man (the motorcyclist) to University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire.

“He had sustained an open fracture to his lower leg. He was given pain relief and immobilised before being airlifted. He was stable throughout the flight and on handover to hospital staff.

“The crew received the call at approximately 1.40pm and landed at the scene 20 minutes later. They landed at the hospital at 2.43pm.”
