The minister at Abington Avenue United Reformed Church in Northampton will be inducted in a special service on January 31.
After a vacancy lasting several months, the congregation at the Abington Avenue United Reformed Church, Northampton is looking forward to the special service of induction of their newly appointed minister, Rev Jane Wade, at 3.00pm on Saturday January 31st.
A spokeswoman for the church said: “The Rev Jane Wade brings with her a wealth of experience from her previous ministry at Hemel Hempstead where she has served for the past 17 years.
“She looks forward to working with the people at Abington Avenue in reaching out to the local community with particular emphasis on work with families, young people and the elderly.
“She is also keen to work with pastors of other churches in the Abington area as well as other community leaders. Jane is married to Mark, a teacher, and has three married children and five grandchildren,” she added.
Asked what made her choose to make the move to Northampton from the church in Hemel Hempstead where she has been a successful and much loved pastor and friend to many, Jane said: “I felt God was calling me on to serve in a new place with new challenges where I could bring my experiences, knowledge and skills learnt from my last pastorate to work alongside the Church at Abington Avenue.
“Building on the firm foundations for the faithful ministry of the past I am excited by what God has in store for us as a congregation as we reach out to our local community to share his love and grace with those we meet,” she added.
