70-year-old unexploded grenade found in Northamptonshire field

An exclusion zone has been set up around a field near a Northamptonshire village after a farmer found a 70-year-old unexploded grenade.

Explosive experts were called to Chipping Warden at 1pm today after the unexploded grenade was found near to an old airfield, off Appletree Road.

Police officer James Reid tweeted: “MOD lost a grenade 70+ years, found by farmer in field , now waiting for #hurtlocker to deal, exclusion zone in place”.
