Every musical taste will be catered for at this family friendly event, with 11 bands and musicians playing from early afternoon through to late evening providing pop covers as well as traditional jazz, brass band, ska, barn dancing, original and folk.

One of the musicians, singer songwriter James Herbert from Kingsthorpe in Northampton, charted earlier this year on iTunes with his EP Roots. Towcester Studio Brass Band and local group, Syncopated Jazz, are also on the programme.

The festival is organised by the committees that run the Pattishall Parish Hall and Fields charities, where the event is held, near Towcester. The aim is to raise enough money to refurbish the hall’s car park which is in a very poor state.

As in previous years there will be a professional stage, lighting, speakers, with sound engineer and crew enabling all the bands to provide high quality music as listeners enjoy the sunshine in the beautiful South Northants countryside.

Visitors are encouraged to take gazebos, fold up chairs and picnic blankets.

Food available on site will include Indian cuisine, freshly made oven pizza and special recipe sausages as well as a beer tent with Gunn Dog Ales from Woodford Halse, Pimms and an afternoon cafe.

There will be plenty of activities for children including a kids’ disco, play equipment and bouncy castle. And there will also be an indoor craft fair with a wide range of goods for sale.

All details including the full band line up and ticket prices can be found online at www.picnicinthepark.org.uk where tickets can also be bought.
