A property expert from Northampton has provided a list of the top 10 places in Northampton where property prices are set to go up in 2022.
Senior estate agent Ray Pusey from Cotters Property has picked out 10 of the best areas in the town you should definitely consider if you're planning a move.
Ray said: "Just after the pandemic started we were expecting prices to decrease by about 15 percent. However, it's been a big turn around and it's surprised everyone, demand for houses has been crazy.
"Over lockdown, people have had more money to save; those in flats want to move to houses with more space; people have realised the importance of a garden; more people are working from home and want a bigger place so they can have an office; there are commuters from London who want lower prices so come to Northampton.
"People have been snapping up houses, so that's why prices are going up."
5. West Hunsbury
Always popular. A big estate with good transport links south of the town. Big Tesco supermarket close by. Also has a local doctors and local shops. Modern houses and family-orientated. Good for first time buyers and good for landlords looking for a buy to let. A good return on your investment. Photo: Google Maps
Duston school had a good Ofsted rating. It's got good access to the M1 at junction 16 and it has amenities in the village. It's expanding quite a bit with all the new developments around it. There are a mix of first time buyers who live there and more executive style homes. You get a lot of people who were born in Duston and stay there their whole lives because they like the community.
Lovely village with some beautiful houses. It's nice and quiet and has a lovely pub.
These are two lovely villages. There are two very good primary schools with good Ofsted reports. There are some lovely houses here, it's just on the edge of the M1. We get a lot of enquiries about the villages but there's never a lot that comes up for sale. Very well sought after.
