New report reveals the 16 schools in Northampton that were oversubscribed...and how they decided who got a place

The oversubscribed schools in Northampton for September 2021 intakes have been revealed

Parents and guardians across Northamptonshire learned last Friday, April 16, which primary school their child had been placed in.

More than 8,400 reception places at primary school places were allocated to pupils across Northamptonshire.

This year, 94.3% of applicants secured a place at their first preference school (93.1% in 2020) while the number of families being offered a place at one of their preferred schools is 98.9%, up from 98.6% in 2020.

Abington Vale Primary School. Both the Park and Stirling campus were oversubscribed and have no places remaining

Additionally, the number of pupils obtaining their first preference for junior school (Year 3) places was 99.5% which was up from 98.9% last year.

For those who were not successful in gaining a place at their preferred school, parents have the right to appeal through the independent admission appeals process.

The next round of primary school place allocations (for late applicants) will take place in May.

Bridgewater Primary School, Northampton - Places were allocated to: Less than 5 pupils in public care or with an Education, Health and Care Plan; 44 siblings; 16 pupils who live closer to the school than any other school and 29 out of 40 other pupils using the distance tiebreaker. The last pupil to be allocated a place in the ‘others’ criterion lives 1.226 miles from the school.
Cedar Road Primary School, Northampton - Places were allocated to: Less than 5 pupils in public care or with an Education, Health and Care Plan; 33 siblings; 21 pupils who live closer to the school than any other school and 5 out of 20 other pupils using the distance tiebreaker. The last pupil to be allocated a place in the ‘others’ criterion lives 0.377 miles from the school.
Duston Eldean Primary School - Places were allocated to: 30 siblings; and 30 pupils who live closer to the school than any other school. A distance tiebreaker was not required.
Ecton Brook Primary School
Kingsthorpe Village Primary School - Places were allocated to: Less than 5 pupils in public care or with an Education, Health and Care Plan; 5 siblings; 13 pupils who live closer to the school than any other school; and 11 out of 15 other pupils using the distance tiebreaker. The last pupil to be allocated a place in the ‘others’ criterion lives 0.711 miles from the school.
Lyncrest Primary School - Places were allocated to: 17 siblings; and 13 out of 14 pupils who live closer to the school than any other school using the distance tiebreaker. The last pupil to be allocated a place in the ‘closer’ criterion lives 0.513 miles from the school.
Malcolm Arnold Prep School - Places were allocated to: 2 pupils under Faith grounds; 21 siblings; and 37 out of 39 other pupils using the distance tiebreaker. The last pupil to be allocated a place in the ‘others’ criterion lives 1.457 miles from the school.
Parklands Primary School - This school was oversubscribed. As it is an Academy, contact the school for further information.
Queen Eleanor Primary Academy - Places were allocated to: Less than 5 pupils in public care or with an Education, Health and Care Plan; 12 siblings; 13 pupils who live closer to the school than any other school; and 4 out of 7 other pupils using the distance tiebreaker. The last pupil to be allocated a place in the ‘others’ criterion lives 0.393 miles from the school.
Simon de Senlis Primary School - Places were allocated to: Less than 5 pupils in public care or with an Education, Health and Care Plan; 21 siblings; 15 pupils who live closer to the school than any other school; and 22 out of 28 other pupils using the distance tiebreaker. The last pupil to be allocated a place in the ‘others’ criterion lives 1.049 miles from the school.
Spring Lane Primary School - Places were allocated to: Less than 5 pupils in public care or with an Education, Health and Care Plan; 21 siblings; 22 pupils who live closer to the school than any other school; and 16 out of 17 other pupils using the distance tiebreaker. Woodvale Primary Academy - Places were allocated to: Less than 5 pupils in public care or with an Education, Health and Care Plan; 16 siblings; 35 pupils who live closer to the school than any other school; and 6 out of 20 other pupils using the distance tiebreaker. The last pupil to be allocated in the ‘others’ criterion lives 0.431 miles from the school.
