It was nine years ago today that we all lined up and bought our books to find out how Harry’s story would end as the seventh and final in the series, the Deathly Hallows, was released.

For many of us, this moment had been more than 10 years in the making - and we were desperate to learn Harry’s fate.

We read with anticipation as (spoiler alert) Harry, Ron and Hermione continued on their journey to find and destroy the Horcruxes, took part in the Battle of Hogwarts, and said goodbye to many of their friends and family members. .

And we held our breath as Harry faced You Know Who for their final and most deadly battle - and emerged victorious. With the epilogue, we could breathe easily.

Which character’s death affected you the most? What was your favourite moment? And, that ending. How did you feel?

Today, we’re celebrating all things Harry and we’d love to know what you did on the day the final book came out - whether you spent the full day reading until you’d done it, or had a Potter-themed party with friends.

The next chapter is about to begin with Harry Potter and the Cursed Child opening onstage next week. It was also be released as a book.
