Northampton Cineworld is in a new group for Unlimited customers...here's what it will cost film fans

Northampton's Cineworld multiplex is finally due to open this month week — with big changes for its Unlimited members.

Cineworld has split its 99 cinemas UK-wide into four groups with different monthly prices for the discount scheme.

In an email to all its Unlimited customers, Cineworld said: "As we expect to reopen our cinemas very soon, in line with current UK government guidance, we wanted to get in touch to let you know about some exciting changes to Unlimited memberships.

"We are introducing Unlimited Membership Groups for new and existing members.

"There will be four groups, each containing a number of Cineworld cinemas, with different pricing. Your monthly Unlimited Membership fee will depend on the group your local Cineworld falls into."

It will cost Unlimited members — in Group Two — from £15.99 a month or a one-off annual payment of £191.88 which gets you a seat to watch any 2D film in any of Sixfields' nine screens as many times as you like for a year.

A few miles down the road at Bedford Cineworld, though, the same Unlimited ticket will cost £9.99 a month or a one-off annual payment of £119.88

But be warned, if you often fancy a visit to Milton Keynes' cinema, you'll have to upgrade to Group 3 at a cost of £18.40 a month or a one-off annual payment of £220.80.

Confirmation from Boris Johnson that cinemas will be allowed to reopen from May 17 has been welcomed by film buffs.

The Sixfields mulitplex shut its doors in March 2020 ahead of the first Covid-19 lockdown. They reopened in September but shut again a month later as the second wave of coronavirus cases began hitting the UK.

A spokesman for Cineworld said last week: "We expect to resume operations at Cineworld Northampton in May, in line with current government guidance.”
