Hide AdNGH's award was agreed by councillors last year 'in recognition of the invaluable work staff have provided during the coronavirus pandemic'.
Ten councillors who have served for 12 years or more will also be conferred as honorary aldermen at the meeting, due to be one of the last before the local authority is abolished.
They are Brandon Eldred, Penelope Flavell, Matt Golby, Councillor Hadland, Christopher Malpas, Jamie Lane, Councillor Larratt, Brian Markham, Leslie Marriott, and Dennis Meredith.
They join individuals such as Diana, Princess of Wales, who received the freedom of the borough in 1989, as well as numerous other organisations and institutions. Both Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service and police force have received it, while the army’s 9th/12th Royal Lancers Regiment was awarded the honour in 2014.
