A 21-year-old Northampton woman has fought off "tough competition" against contestants from all over the country to take home the Miss Galaxy England crown.

In the lead-up to the grand final, Stefanie Williams put her Miss Northampton Galaxy title to "good use" and made more public appearances than anyone in her division, organisers say.

The contestant also raised £1000 for charity and "wowed" the judges on stage before taking home titles for the 'Best in Interview' and 'Best in Swimwear'.

Now she will compete in the international final in America.

Holly Pirrie, director of the UK Galaxy Pageants, said: "I am so pleased for Stefanie, she worked incredibly hard and she truly deserved to win the Miss Galaxy England title. Stefanie is an excellent role model for young girls and women across the UK. She is going to have the time of her life at the international final in America.

"Stefanie has taken home an incredible prize package including a personalised bag from Vanity Sparkle, a £250 voucher to spend at The Dress Studio, luxury Hair products from Duncan Fisher, and the list goes on.

"As well as all of these amazing prizes, Stefanie has won herself a trip to America and a place at the international final of Miss Galaxy. The international Miss Galaxy crown has already been won by the UK four times."

The UK Galaxy Pageants support 'The Christie', a cancer charity based in Manchester and the 2017 UK Galaxy finalists raised over £70,000 for the cause.
