Northampton school picks Angelina Jolie and The Queen for inspirational women awards
The school held two separate polls in the senior and junior schools to find the most inspiring female public figures to mark International Women’s Day yesterday.
Senior school pupils chose actress and charity ambassador Angelina Jolie ahead of runners up Malala Yousafzai, Angela Merkel through an online vote.

Hide AdAnd the junior school chose the Queen ahead of runner-up Gabby Douglas following a debate.
A spokeswoman for the school said: “Our youngest girls in reception actually wanted Mrs McCue, our catering manager added to the list as they had spent time with her in the kitchen recently and had such a good time.”
A special International Women’s Day assembly yesterday also saw pupils perform Adele’s Rolling in the Deep on cellos.
The science Department also hosted Inspiring Women, Inspiring Futures, an afternoon where they were joined by women professionals who work in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
