A man who was conducting a ‘peaceful protest’ sat in a tree for most of yesterday afternoon.

The man climbed onto a tree near police headquarters in Mere Way Northampton where he remained for several hours.

As he sat in the tree and held a sign in attempt to get his opinions heard.

Police were made aware of the incident and were in attendance to check on the man’s safety.

A spokeswoman for Northamptonshire Police said: “We are dealing with a man conducting a peaceful protest near Force Headquarters in Northampton.

“This relates to a matter we are aware of.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
