A world class illusionist, a tribute to the late, great Cilla Black, half term fun for children, and a tribute act to the only group act to win X-Factor, will make it a busy February for Northampton’s Deco Theatre.
The award winning and highly acclaimed illusionist Sean Alexander, who first made a name for himself on TV’s ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, brings his show to Northampton on Saturday, February 13, the first stop on a nationwide tour of regional theatres.
Half-term week at The Deco sees the return of the ever popular Princess Show Time on Thursday, February 18 (1pm) – a fantastic mix of sing-a-longs, dancing and fun for all little princesses, and always a winner with young audiences, and those who bring them!
Later that evening (7pm), Mini Mixx take to The Deco stage with their lively tribute to the 2011 X-Factor winners Little Mixx, as they recreate the chemistry and vibrancy of Leigh-Anne, Perrie, Jesy and Jade and have their audiences dancing in the aisles.
Half term entertainment concludes on Sunday, February 21 (12.30pm), with the family fun show Treasure Island, which completes its nine day, nationwide tour at The Deco.
And a busy month at the theatre is completed the following Friday (February 26) with another touring show, ‘Cilla and the shades of the 60s’ – an unashamed musical tribute to showbiz legend Cilla Black, who died suddenly last August.
“We’re bringing some fantastic entertainment to Northampton, and we’re bringing to town something for all ages,” said Jill Roach, of Stage Right Productions, who organise all shows at The Deco, including the successful annual Pantomines.
“We’ve got a great variety in February, and we’re really excited about it all – Sean Alexander is an amazing illusionist, Mini Mixx are great fun and wonderfully entertaining, if you loved Cilla you’ll love our tribute show to her, Princess Show Time has proved a big winner with local people, and Treasure Island is terrific Sunday afternoon entertainment for all the family.
“Not only do we put on top class entertainment, we also do it at very affordable prices because we want the experience of going to the theatre to be enjoyed by all – that’s why our top price tickets are just £10, and I’d like to think that’s why we had nearly 20-thousand people visit our theatre during the Beauty And The Beast Panto run last month, with fantastic reviews about the show and the theatre from so many who came.”
