Frank Skinner, Suggs, and Two Govnors are among a host of new names revealed by Royal & Derngate today as comedians, musicians and theatre productions which will head to the Northampton theatre this summer and autumn.
Derngate’s Made in Northampton season will continue with a new take on the classic farce with Every Last Trick and Patrick Marber’s darkly comic Dealer’s Choice.
There will drama from the West End when One Man, Two Guvnors and The Full Monty head to Northampton.
The musicals Fiddler On The Roof and Let It Be take to the Derngate stage in the coming months, with the return of New Jersey Nights to follow.
There will also be concerts from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and a visit from Grimethorpe Colliery Band, with Lisa Stansfield, Jools Holland and Bellowhead among the musical highlights later in the year.
Comedians Lee Mack, Frank Skinner and Jimmy Carr will bring their stand-up shows to town while a busy schedule of children’s events will include Moominsummer Madness, the extraordinary Dinosaur Zoo, and The Energy Show from Science Museum Live.
At Christmas, Peter Pan will be the Derngate’s pantomime, starrinng Joe Pasquale, with Merlin on the Royal stage.
Visiting drama includes the Olivier Award-nominated West End comedy, The Play That Goes Wrong, while this autumn sees the return of The Woman In Black.
Shaun Williamson and Emma Barton will take to the stage in One Man, Two Guvnors, while a new stage adaptation of Pat Barker’s World War I novel, Regeneration, will also be heading to the theatre.
Monty Python star Michael Palin comes to Northampton in October with his new show, while Madness frontman, Suggs, and Jasper Carrott will also be performing.
