Shambala festival back in county

MUSICIANS acts spanning a plethora of genres will be playing at the Shambala Festival which returns to its '˜secret' Northamptonshire venue next week.

More than 200 acts will join revellers at the festival which also includes world class cabaret, art installations, dance, theatre and spoken word, comedy, workshops and wellbeing sessions.

Acts playing include Beans On Toast, Me and My Friends, Bush Gothic, Jalen N Gonda, Jerry Dammers, Monki, Sister Sledge Krafty Kuts, Beardyman and the Electric Swing Circus.

The Gilles Peterson and Iggy Pop approved act Vula Viel (pictured) will be bringing their mix of African, electronica and minimalist influences to the festival - while The Urban Vooddoo Machine will be bringing their bourbon soaked gypsy blues.

For the first time, Shambala will be a ‘meat free’ festival across its site.

Shambala is from Thursday, August 25 to Sunday, August 28.
