One of Europe’s finest jazz trombonists will be joined by his band for a night of contemporary jazz next Thursday.
Mark Nightingale and his quartet will be playing The Brass-Players’ Songbook, a themed concert exploring some of the most memorable tunes written by famous brass players.
Nightingale has played and recorded with acts including Scott Hamilton, Stan Tracey, Cleo Laine and John Dankworth, as well as leading his own big band and various small groups over the years.
For his performance at The Castle in Wellingborough, he will be joined by John Horler, Alec Dankworth and Winston Clifford. The quartet will be playing music by the likes of Clifford Brown, Clark Terry and Bob Brookmeyer.
Nightingale has previously been described as “the outstanding trombonist of his generation”.
