A new Corby International Orchestra will be established this summer, led by internationally celebrated British-Asian clarinettist, composer and music educator Arun Ghosh, in residency at The Core at Corby Cube.

The aim is to create a new international orchestra, drawn from Corby’s communities and reflecting the town’s musical and cultural diversity.

Conceived in Calcutta, bred in Bolton, matured in Manchester and now living in London, Arun Ghosh’s musical vocabulary and vision reflects his own rich geographical heritage.

Anyone with an instrument and reasonable musical ability interested in being part of a new Corby orchestra is invited to come along to the very first free open event on Thursday July 16 at The Core from 6pm to 7pm.

The workshop is open to musicians aged 14 and over.

To sign up for the taster, send an email Made in Corby on madeincorby@groundwork.org.uk or call 01536 267895.

The Orchestra will develop new music to be performed at 4pm at The Core as the finale to Corby’s International Day on Saturday September 5.
