A fairytale Christmas market will be held in Northampton town centre this week.
The Magic Bean Emporium in St Giles Street is hosting the festive event which is set to take place on Sunday, December 6 in the Market Square.
The Fairytale Christmas Market, which will run from 10am, will feature a variety of stalls and street entertainment.
There will be a grand finale to close the market at 5pm.
Michella Dos Santos, author and owner of the fairytale themed dessert parlour The Magic Bean Emporium is one of the main event organisers and has taken inspiration from her recently published book The Flying Feather.
She hope the event will bring some old fashioned Christmas spirit to town.
Michella said: “I’m taking elements from my book and combining it with elements from famous fairy tales - there will be something for everyone. You will probably meet just about every Prince and Princess.”
There will also be a stall where shoppers can donate gifts which will be distributed to good causes in the town.
Michella said: “When we initially voiced the idea, the response was beyond overwhelming, I think we had something like 400 messages and emails in the first 36 hours of announcing it.
“Everyone’s been fantastic - local choirs, charities, families and friends, and many others have offered to help in one form or another.
“Some have even volunteered to make traditional Christmas decorations to decorate our market, and others to dress up and act.”
Town centre manager Derrick Simpson and Northampton market manager Charlie Childs are working closely with Michella ahead of the event.
The Fairytale Market will be running in conjunction with their current Christmas market - The Frost Fayre.
