One of the leading stars of the West End, musical theatre and a former Hollyoaks actress is the star of this year’s pantomime at The Lighthouse Theatre in Kettering.
Carley Stenson, who has appeared in Spamalot, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and the musical versions of Legally Blonde and Shrek, plays Fairy Fuschia in Jack and the Beanstalk.
The company putting on the pantomime Jordan Productions is putting on a show at Kettering for the first time and she has worked before for the company.
Carley said: “I had such a fun time playing the villain last time for the company that when they asked me if I wanted to be a part of this, I didn’t hesitate.
“It will be a very different challenge for me this year. I was playing a baddie which is a great fun part to play.
“I think you have to bring the same energy and performance but I’ll have to channel my good side this time around.”
She was also full of praise for the venue.
Carley added: “It is my first time here and in Kettering. I like what I have seen ad there is a nice big dressing room so that all of the girls in the cast can have a chat and a gossip back stage.”
Appearing alongside her are former Brookside actor Steven Pinder and Emmerdale villain Kevin Pallister.
Packed with toe-tapping songs, traditional slapstick and dazzling sets, Jordan Productions is pulling out all the stops to make the 2015 panto one to really remember. Featuring a growing beanstalk and a blundering 10 foot giant, it’s set to raise the roof of the Lighthouse Theatre.
Jack and the Beanstalk is at the Lighthouse Theatre, Kettering from Friday, December 11, to Sunday, January 3.
