Classic soul hits on Castle stage

Soul Legends will be playing some of the biggest hits by some of the genre’s biggest acts at The Castle next week.

The show features an all-star cast of talented singers and musicians, elaborate costumes and jaw-dropping choreography.

Expect hits by the likes of Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Lionel Richie, Barry White and many more.

Soul Legends is on Saturday, July 11. Doors open at 7.30pm and cost £22.

Tomorrow night, Fiori Musicali returns to the Castle for Hello America!

American oboist Gail Hennessy will explore the impact of European music on American culture with Fiori’s founder and director Penelope Rapson. Hennessy will be joined by Rapson on harpsichord. Doors open at 12.30pm, tickets cost £14 and include a buffet lunch.

Europe’s foremost blues harmonica exponent, Paul Lamb and his long standing musical compatriots, the King Snakes, play the venue the same evening.

Lamb came out of Blyth, Northumberland, forming firstly the Blues Burglars and then the King Snakes.

Almost three decades and more than 14 albums later, the band is acknowledged as among the best purveyors of rhythm and blues and continue to entertain a growing army of fans. Doors open at 8pm, tickets cost £10.
